Peticare was created by Briar Carter. I am based in Wellington, NZ and do phone and zoom consults all over the world. My aim is to make homeopathic and natural treatments more accessible to pet owners, to share the magic of homeopathy with as many animals as possible.

My interest in homeopathy was sparked by taking remedies myself over the years and it having such a profound effect on me. My natural affinity and love for animals led me to complete the four year diploma in Animal Homeopathy with the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy, where I am now a tutor.

I have worked with animals for the past 20 years, particularly within the horse industry. I am a qualified instructor and have trained animals for the film industry in Australia and New Zealand. As well as running Peticare, I have worked with other well known homeopathic companies, making remedies and providing product education to staff.

I treat all household pets, cats, dogs, birds, horses and farm animals.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a healing system which can be used for many different conditions.

Homeopathy is a holistic approach to healing, treating the individual animal. Looking at the physical, psychological and behavioural issues and giving a remedy to trigger the bodies own natural healing power.

Homeopathy is a natural, gentle therapy that has been used safely and effectively for over 200 years, it is suitable for animals and people of all ages. It can be used to treat both chronic and acute conditions. It is not intended to replace vet treatment and can be used alongside other medications and during pregnancy.

Homeopathy is based on the law of similars, where 'like cures like'. The idea being, a plant, mineral or animal substance that can cause 'disease'/suffering in a healthy person can act as a remedy for an unwell person exhibiting the same symptoms.

Homeopathy was invented by renowned physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann in the 1790's, and has been used by billions of people throughout the world since then including the royal family.

Homeopathic remedies use minute doses of substances to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal itself. Remedies are usually given in highly  diluted form after going through a process called 'potentization', which is a series of dilutions and vigorous shaking that leaves the remedy nontoxic.
